This is a fabulous vintage evening purse! Probably dating to the 1940s or 1950s, it is a nice size for today.  There’s plenty of room for your phone, keys, and a few other little ditties! 

The entire purse, including the fabric handle, is covered with crystal clear glass seed beads (sometimes called rocaille) with silvered centers, giving it a glistening look.  The raised floral design is particularly nice, in that it gives a lovely 3-dimensional effect. 

The frame is silver tone metal and the clasp top is set with little tiles of faux mother-of-pearl.

The inside is a creamy white satin with a mirror pocket and center divider.  There is a rectangular mark on the mirror pocket where a maker’s label would have been.   The front section is very clean but the back section does have a red/pink spot near the brownish rectangular mark where the label was.  A dry cleaner may be able to remove or lighten this.

The beadwork on this purse is simply magnificent.   Even the handle is in excellent condition.   The outer surface is clean and sturdy with no missing beads that I could find.  The clasp closes well, but not tightly.

Measures 7” high and 7” wide and about 1 ¼” wide at the bottom.
