A most wearable and stylish antique hat, this wonderfully large black velvet wide brim late Edwardian hat dates to about 1918 – 1919. 

In an early cloche style, it has a very wide, floppy brim with a soft, collapsible crown.  The brim has black moiré ribbon woven through bound quarter-sized holes that end in a big bow at the back of this vintage hat.  A big, fluffy black ostrich feather decorates the left side and curls to the front.  The brim is wired to keep the shape – and it can be shaped even more to the wearer’s liking.

The condition is very good with the biggest flaw being that the nap on the black velvet is worn away in many places.  The lining of the crown is completely intact but there is a light moisture mark.

All in all, this antique Edwardian hat is very fun, very wearable and quite stylish!

Hat will be shipped flat and well padded to protect the feather – the crown is soft and collapses nicely.
