Mmmm! This delicious dark chocolate brown (in some lighting, it appears almost to have a dark green cast) blouse dates to the 1940s and features a dainty jewel neckline, padded shoulders, and flowing bishop sleeves. Darts at the waistline give this vintage blouse a lovely, fitted shape. The blouse fastens at center back with 6 abalone shell buttons.
But the most wonderful feature is the milk chocolate brown openwork insertion of 4 ½” wide lace that crosses the front of the blouse diagonally from the left shoulder to just below the bust on the right. The lighter brown of the lace draws attention to this beautiful style element.
The condition is excellent with the exception of a very faint light colored mark that runs from the front of the right shoulder and down the under side of the right sleeve. Because of the drape of the sleeve, it is hardly noticeable (I have trouble finding it and it barely shows in the photo, and I’ve tried to lighten the photo some) and especially when worn with a jacket, would be unseen. This superb vintage is clean and ready to wear!
