A very sweet vintage cameo necklace by Sarah Coventry  jewelry from the 60s.  Black faceted glass, imitating hematite, is set on a shining gold tone pendant.  The bail topping the pendant is loopy and rather regal looking.  The cameo head, in relief, is almost an iridescent black so that it stands out nicely from the black background.

I found this vintage necklace in an ad in a Life Magazine dated May 22, 1964 and it is also shown in the book “Emmons & Sarah Coventry Jewelry Fashion Show” by Deborah A. Robinson on page 81.  The book shows the difference between this necklace and another, very similar called Midnight Cameo.

Pendant measures 1 ¾” long and ¾” wide.  Necklace chain is 15 ¾” long and has a spring ring closure.
