This is a very pretty vintage fan made of folded paper with painted wooden sticks. 

The central scene is that of a cabin or maybe a pavilion on an island in a river or lake.  The image is similar to many Oriental scenes except that, in my opinion, it really doesn’t have that look.  It is edged with gold color paint and decorated with daisies and other small flowers around the image and is lightly “sprinkled” with glitter.  The outer sticks have a floral motif that looks like it might have been stenciled on.  The back of the fan is without decoration.

In very good condition, with the usual wear to the folded areas and a couple of small tears in the paper that do not compromise the beauty or functionality of the fan.
